Areas of Focus

The concerns I work with most closely

Anxiety, worry & burnout

If your mind runs ahead of you with racing thoughts, a tight chest, restless nights, the sense of never quite catching up anxiety counselling can help you find steadier ground. Together we look at what fuels the worry, practice concrete tools to calm an activated nervous system, and gently loosen the perfectionism and over-responsibility that so often sit underneath. This includes support for generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, health anxiety and burnout.

Trauma & PTSD — including EMDR

When something overwhelming has happened the past can keep living in the present as flashbacks, hypervigilance, numbness, or a body that won’t settle. I offer trauma-informed therapy, to help your nervous system finish processing what it couldn’t at the time, so the memory loosens its grip. We move at your pace, always prioritizing safety and choice, and draw on modalities such as somatic and parts-informed work as needed.

Grief & loss

Grief isn’t only about death. It’s the ache of any ending. That could be a relationship, a marriage, a pregnancy, your health, a role or identity or just the future you’d pictured. There’s no correct timeline and no tidy stages to march through. I offer a spacious, unhurried place to feel what you feel, make meaning where meaning can be found, and slowly carry your loss in a way that lets you keep living fully.

Chronic pain & long-term illness

Living with persistent pain, fatigue, or a chronic health condition takes a quiet, constant toll on mood, identity, relationships, and hope. Counselling won’t erase the pain, but it can change your relationship to it: reducing the suffering layered on top, tending the grief and frustration, and helping you build a life that still holds meaning and pleasure alongside the difficulty

Depression & low self-esteem

Depression can flatten colour out of everything and turn the volume up on a harsh inner critic. Together we work to understand what’s keeping the heaviness in place, rebuild connection and momentum in small sustainable steps, and challenge the old stories of not-enough-ness, moving toward a warmer and more forgiving relationship with yourself.

Couples & relationships: Gottman-informed

Whether you’re stuck in the same argument, rebuilding after a betrayal, or simply drifting, couples counselling can help you turn toward each other again. Drawing on the research-based Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy approaches, we work on communication, repair, intimacy, and trust. I welcome all relationship structures, including open relationships and consensual non-monogamy, and support couples navigating infidelity and its aftermath.

Neurodivergence & ADHD

For adults who are (or suspect they may be) neurodivergent ( ADHD, autistic, or highly sensitive ) therapy here is affirming, not corrective. We focus on working with your brain rather than against it: on self-understanding, self-compassion, unmasking safely, managing overwhelm, and building a life shaped around how you actually function.

LGBTQIA+ & identity

I offer affirming, culturally sensitive counselling for LGBTQIA+ folks and for anyone exploring identity, belonging, or the experience of living between cultures and languages. As someone who has moved across countries and tongues myself, I bring particular care to questions of migration, belonging, and the parts of us that don’t fit a single box.

Life transitions & meaning

Some seasons ask everything of us: a move, a career shift, becoming a parent, leaving a relationship, entering a new chapter of aging. Even chosen change can bring grief and uncertainty. This is depth work as much as practical support: making sense of who you’re becoming, and finding meaning in the passage.

Prenatal & postpartum

The journey into parenthood can hold joy and disorientation, anxiety, grief, and identity shifts all at once. I offer gentle support through pregnancy and the postpartum period. This includes perinatal anxiety and low mood, and the tender work of becoming a parent while still being a whole person.
