My Approach
Not one method — the right one for you
I’m an integrative therapist, which means I don’t force everyone through the same model. I draw on a broad toolkit and tailor it to who you are and what you need — with the relationship between us as the foundation for all of it.
Some weeks call for practical skills to steady an anxious mind. Others call for slower, deeper work with the roots of an old pattern. I hold both, and we decide the pace together. Here are the main approaches I draw on.
Gottman Method (couples)
Research-based couples work for communication, conflict repair, trust, and intimacy — building friendship and shared meaning alongside practical tools.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Attachment-based work for individuals and couples — understanding the emotions and longings beneath our patterns, and building more secure, connected bonds.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy — practical, structured work with the thoughts and behaviours that keep anxiety, low mood, and unhelpful patterns in place.
DBT skills
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness — especially helpful when feelings run big and fast.
Narrative therapy
Examining the stories we live inside, separating you from the problem, and re-authoring a narrative that fits who you want to be.
Existential therapy
Making room for the bigger questions — meaning, mortality, freedom, and choice — that so often sit beneath everyday distress.
Somatic & mindfulness
Working with the body and the present moment, because so much of what we carry lives below words, in the nervous system.
Psychodynamic
Understanding how the past shapes the present, and befriending the different parts of ourselves — including the ones we’d rather disown.
